The well-structured life of middle-aged philosophy teacher Nathalie (Isabelle Huppert) is thrown into chaos after her husband leaves her for another woman, and she is left to deal with her extremely possessive mother.

However, she finds an unlikely new companion that helps her move past her struggles — a former student of hers and radical communist named Fabien (Roman Kolinka).

With ratings in the cellar, the station manager issues a mandate to deliver juicier and more exploitative stories, a story firmly at odds with her serious brand of issue-based journalism.

With the burden of proof placed on the accused, Lipstadt and her legal team fight to prove the essential truth that the Holocaust occurred. Based on the book “History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier.”
